Built by makers, for makers.
BooLabz is a curated storefront for maker hardware: open-source devices, development boards, displays, tools, and the parts that turn an idea into a working thing. We run it the way we’d want a hardware shop run for us: a short list of gear worth owning, listings that tell you what you’re actually getting, and a real person on the other end of the phone.
Scary good technology
Our mascot is a friendly ghost named Boo, and the pun is deliberate. The best technology is the kind that quietly haunts you: the board you keep reaching for, the display that makes every project look finished, the tool that cuts a job in half. We look for gear that earns a permanent spot on the bench and leave the rest to the big warehouses.
What we believe
- Build. Hardware is for making things. Every product here is chosen because it helps you build something, not just own something.
- Mod. If you bought it, you should be allowed to open it. We favor devices with documented pinouts, standard connectors, and firmware you can flash yourself.
- Explore. Curiosity is the point. Small gadgets lead to bigger ideas, and half the fun is finding out what a thing can really do.
- Share. The maker world runs on people publishing what they learn. We support open-source projects and independent creators because everything on this site exists thanks to them.
How we choose what we sell
We’re a curated shop, not a warehouse. Before anything goes on sale we check that it does what it claims, that it’s built well enough to recommend to a friend, and that the specifications we publish are ones we can stand behind. If we wouldn’t buy it for our own bench, it isn’t here.
Our categories follow the way makers actually work: dev boards, sensors and robotics, displays, mesh and radios, mini PCs and homelab gear, keyboards and controls, retro gaming, audio and desk gear, tools and test equipment, and the accessories and power that hold a build together.
Open source. Brighter tomorrow.
Much of what we carry is open hardware or runs open-source software, and many of these products come from small, independent teams. Where we have them, each product page links to the documentation, firmware, and source projects behind it, so you can go straight to the people who made it. Every purchase supports open-source projects and independent creators.
